As last year is officially over, and the New Year is among us - Cheers! to all. In a news wire find (on our home page here at Dog House), I came across some interesting numbers as posted by International Business Times, pertaining to the richest boxers of last year. So who came out the richest?
The richest was Floyd Mayweather Jr. who reportedly has a net worth $280 million! (Wow! They don't call him "Money" for nothing.)
In at number two was retired legend, George Foreman (65). Get this, Big George is has a net worth of $250 million! (BIG George indeed!)
Oscar De La Hoya (Retired boxer / now Boxing promoter) made third on the list with a reported net value of $200 million. (With jaw-dropping cash like that, he can bathe in GOLD and truly live up to his nickname, Golden Boy.)
Number four is also another retired legend, Lennox Lewis. This giant had amazing skills in the ring, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, certainly the best out of his Generation - but he was also and obviously remains a good business man - smart with his cash. Lewis is reportedly worth $140 million.
Number five, yet another retired legend in Sugar Ray Leonard. SRL ranks 5th with a reported value of $120 million.
