One man that has faced both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside the professional ring is Oscar De La Hoya. If anyone could give a unique perspective on both fighters, De La Hoya would be the person. Recently quoted in the media, De La Hoya explained why he feels that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is an even fight.
De La Hoya stated
"Mayweather is a guy who times you. He will throw a fast shot and boom. Mayweather will not throw a combination of punches. He’s not that type of fighter. A three or four combination; he’s not that type of fighter. Pacquiao is that type of fighter."
De La Hoya added: "(In the past) I'd have gone with Pacquiao. Both guys have slowed down four, five, six, seven punch combination and throw it fast. I would say, today, both guys might be the same - I would have to say they’re even."
Very interesting perspective for sure.
Many folks are split on who'd win this fight... but not any of us have faced both fighters as De La Hoya has.
