Some sad news to report to our readers. According to media reports, on Sunday morning, Scotty "Bulldog" Olson (real name: Scotty Robert Olson), the Former world boxing champion who retired back in 2002 , suffered a heart attack and remains in a coma in the hospital.
Certainly what legends are made of,
"Bulldog" Olson boxed in the Light Flyweight division at the '86 XIII Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, becoming the 1st Canadian to win a medal in the 48kg division. Scotty won six consecutive Canadian Amateur Championships. He reached the quarterfinals at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.
Scotty turned professional in 1990. He retired in 2002 with a record of 34 wins (KO 25) + lost 4 (KO 2) + drawn 2.
Our thoughts and prayers are with "Bulldog" Olson.
