Even though Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao is official (set for May 2nd), it feels like we should be pinching ourselves to make sure this isn't a dream! And who could blame any of us?! Over half a decade in the making and only now can we finally anticipate the fight... for real! Shortly after making the announcement that his fight with Pacquiao was on, Mayweather spoke to Yahoo Sports and explained why he always knew that the battle would eventually happen.
Speaking to the online publication, Mayweather stated: "I knew eventually it would happen, but everything takes time."
Mayweather went on to add: "Everything in life is about timing. I have a good team and I waited until the time was right. He (Pacquiao) waited until the time was right, and the two teams came together and we made the fight happen."
If you ask me, the timing was right years ago... and although everything takes time, I hardly believe or feel that 5+ years was necessary. That being said, at this time we'll take what we can get.
