By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. To me it is official, the Nevada State Athletic Commission made themselves look foolish and overreaching today when they fined Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. $900 K (30 % of his purse) and suspended him for 9 months for testing positive for Marijuana.

First, how dare they actually fine the guy 900K. To me it says they are crooks who love to steal money (Yes, that is how I feel!).... and a 9 month suspension over it? To me, everyone who voted in favor (3-2) of the fine and suspension is nothing short of crazy and top level crooks. Shame on Nevada State Athletic Commission. I honsetly feel the N.S.A.C. needs to be investigated over this, and should be slapped with a punishment themselves for stealing and imposing such an obvious ridiculous fine. I don't feel they are helping boxing at all with this... all I feel is the N.S.A.C. is helping themselves in a very crooked manner and hurting our sport at the same time.

Funny thing is, every time I've been to a boxing match, I've smelled Marijuana in the air from fans smoking it at the event. (Every time!) - So my guess is after going to a Boxing match, I too would test positive.

Here is a tweet from Boxing scribe Gabriel Montoya that I agree with: "Nevada really needs to stop testing for THC. All state commissions should. It's not a PED. It does not put your opponent at risk. #boxing."

Boxing has way more problems then the recreational Marijuana, and it shows us how far behind the times the NSAC is. I've said my feelings... It's a shameful cash grab and B.S. use of authority. I am truly disgusted in the way I feel Chavez Jr. was raped hardcore by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
