Boxing tickets for Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao, is as you know, the hottest tickets under the sun. So thanks to mostly speculation, prices for tickets have bounced all over the place. One must wonder just how much cash is it gonna take? Short answer... a fortune.
No matter how you slice this pie, you knew it was going to cost a lot to bite into. According to Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe, at yesterday's Mayweather-Pacquiao presser in Los Angeles, he announced that soon some tickets will be for sale.
Ellerbe dropped information pertaining to ticket price, $1,500 (for the least expensive), and up to $7,500 (per ticket).
Ouch! But was it not expected? Most of us understand, this is simply a Pay-per-view event and for many of us, we will be more than happy to watch it at home... and at those prices for seating (at the MGM Grand Arena - 16,000), it's making everyone's living room look that much more comfortable.
Sadly, Ellerbe did not give info on when these tixs will hit the market, and let it be known that only a fraction would go up for sale to the public (You can expect Casinos, SHOWTIME and HBO will eat up the rest of the tickets and sell or do with them what they will).
Hey, it's big money...and if you think those number are crazy, just image what ticket resellers are going to charge. My advice... buy the PPV!
