Boxing is alive and kicking these days as the TV viewership numbers are strong across the board for anything boxing. Such is the case for this past weekend's fight in which Sergey Kovalev earned an 8th-round knockout on Jean Pascal. The fight shown live on TV with HBO did some excellent numbers in terms of how many people tuned in and watch.
According to Nielsen Media Research, Sergey Kovalev vs. Jean Pascal shown live on HBO on Saturday night from the Bell Centre in Montreal drew an average TV audience of 1.152 million viewers. Not bad at all, and more so suprising since the telecast started around Midnight.

Kovalev vs. Pascal, peaked at 1.2 million viewers. In full, the 3-fights shown on HBO averaged 956,000 viewers.
In the opener on the HBO telecast,
Isaac Chilemba defeated Vasily Lepikhin, while securing an average of 850,000 viewers. The fight would gon on to peak at 968,000.
In the co-feature between Vyacheslav "Czar" Glazkov vs. Steve "USS" Cunningham took in 958,000 viewers. The battle peaked at 1.057 million.
