He will have tons of fan support, and perhaps fire and wind behind his back, but how is he going to do? How on God's green Earth will Saul "Canelo" Alvarez defeat Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.? Plenty have tried to solve the "Money" problem only to go down in defeat. Each opponent that has faced "Money" has promised to train harder than ever before and be the first to beat the undefeated P4P Champ... and Canelo in this sense is no different.
Quoted on ESPN in regards to his fight with Mayweather, Canelo stated: "We all know and realize that he (Floyd) is the best, but I'm going to prepare myself like never before."
So seriously, how's he going to do it? Canelo plans on utilizing his ring intellegence, speed and strength. Canelo went on to add: "I think that I'll have my own speed and intelligence and strength behind me to figure him out and be able to win."
One thing seems for sure - Canelo will be a tough fight for Mayweather. He's young, he is tough, great stamina, heart and skills... if anyone can pull off an upset... Canelo is probably the best man out there to try.
Bottom line... it's worth throwing down some PPV dollars for this one.
