On Saturday night in boxing action, the W.B.A. "regular" super bantamweight champ, Scott Quigg made easy work and a short night of his challenger, Kiko Martinez.
Quigg unleashed a barrage of flurries that sent Martinez down early in the second round. Martinez would get up, but his legs were wobbly. Moments after picking himself off the canvas, Martinez was in bad shape as Quigg unleashed more thunderous punches. Martinez would go down again in the second round, this time making it on his feet as the ref counted to 9. At this point the ref had seen enough and waved the fight off.
With the victory, Quigg's professional record now improves to
31-0-2, 23 KOs. Kiko Martinez's pro record now stands at 32-6, 24 KOs.
The action went down at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
