Paulie Malignaggi explains his controversial Manny Pacquiao comments: "I didn't just pull it out of my ass!" - Exclusive By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing (July 21, 2015) TweetFollow @DoghouseBoxing
"I stand behind my comments I made about Manny Pacquiao," says Paulie Malignaggi in a recent interview conducted by Radio Rahim of MaxBoxing.com. Malignaggi is commenting on his feelings that Pacquiao has at least in the past used some kind of performance enhancing drug. Read on further for new quotes by Malignaggi explaining why he feels this way about Pacquiao and why he is voicing his opinion, even if it is controversial.
Malignaggi went on to add: "I feel like what I have said is the case. I have an
educated opinion behind my reasoning of why I feel that way, I didn't just pull it out of my ass."
"There has been a lot of great fighters of my generation and past generations, I didn't just single out Manny Pacquiao for a certain reason, I singled out Manny Pacquiao because to me there was something very clear that there was something fishy about him."
"I am allowed to make my opinions, I am allowed to speculate especially based on what I know about boxing and my boxing I.Q. is far, far superior to anyone I ever speak to. I am very confident in my boxing I.Q. and confident in the things I see... I've seen a lot of great fighters and I've never said anything to the regard of them like I feel about Manny Pacquiao... there is just something about Manny Pacquiao."
"Maybe there are other boxers who have not been clean in boxing, but to me it just doesn't stand out the way it does for Manny Pacquiao. For what I see, what I think I am seeing, Manny Pacquiao is just a spit in your face, I mean you got to be a moron not to see what I see, or you just don't want to believe it... Maybe he's your hero and you just rather believe that a guy like that wouldn't do something like that. Hey, to each their own, we are all entitled to our own opinions, your own prerogative, and that is my prerogative to have my opinion of Pacquiao. Like I said, I didn't just pull it out of my ass."
"I have a great respect for Freddie Roach (Pacquiao's trainer)... but I really do feel at days end, that Freddie will never admit publicly, but Freddie was a fighter just like I am a fighter and because of that I feel like he knows. I feel like any fighter knows what I am talking about and agrees with what I am talking about, they just don;t want the controversy of making those comments publicly. I could careless about the controversy. Either way It's my opinion and I am entitled to it."
