Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto is anything but a worthy fight. Considering this maybe Mayweather Jr's last fight, he could have a done a better job in picking an opponent. Not to knock on Berto, he deserves a pay day, but not against Mayweather. Berto has fought only once a year for the last 4 years. That's 4 fights in 4 years. He won two and lost two in that time period. Hardly the fighting record of what legends are made of or someone who deserves to share the same ring with Mayweather.
Just about any other choice for Mayweather would have been a better call. Hell, as much as I don't want a Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao rematch, I'd gladly take it over Mayweather vs. Berto.
Now truly, count me out of a rematch of Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, but it's still a better alternative to me than Mayweather vs. Berto.
There are tons of better fighters for Mayweather to choose from...
I'd rather see Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto II, or Mayweather vs. Amir Khan or that tough as nails kid, Gennady Golovkin.
I'd rather Mayweather vs. Karim Mayfield... or even a funny joke of a fight, like Mayweather vs. Adrien Broner.
I'd even take Mayweather vs. Kell Brook, or Tim Bradley Jr., Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter. All better challenges than what I am sure Berto will offer.
