Just about anything is more intriguing than Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto. They fight on Sept. 12 in a fight that can't possibly please fans. If there was a fight out there that could not only make fans happy, but perhaps even be a match that would light up the boxing stage, it might just be against Gennady 'GGG" Golovkin.
For Golovkin's part, not only is he more than willing to face off against Mayweather Jr., but he is also prepared to moved down in weight to face him.
Speaking to ESPN's SportsNation, Golovkin stated that Mayweather is a great champion and he'd go down in weight to make a fight happen.
Regarding a move down in weight to vs. Mayweather, Golovkin told the publication: "Look at me, I'm not big. My last couple of fights I'm 158, 159. This is possible for me."
Golovkin is willing to move down to 154lbs. if Mayweather (who fights at 147lbs.) would move up in weight to meet at 154lbs.
Ok, unlikely, but a few pounds added for Mayweather and a few pounds taken off for Golovkin... well wouldn't that be something?!
