It's being officially recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records. According to the 2015 Guinness Book of World Records, the highest Pay-per-view boxing match of all time is Floyd Mayweather vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
Posted on Guinnessworldrecords.com as an official notice: "Unbeaten boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr, and his fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in September 2013, raked in a staggering $150,000,000 (£91,812,400) making it the Highest selling pay-per-view boxing match of all time."
The previous record also belonged to Floyd Mayweather. Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. – 5/5/2007 – $136 Million. The record before that was Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson – 6/8/2002 – $112 Million.
