They don't call him "Money" for nothing! When it comes to advance PPV (Pay-Per-View) numbers from Boxing events, Kevin Iole of Yahoo.com Sports is the go to guy. So how did the rematch, Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana do in terms of PPV sales? According to Iole's latest report, this event out did the first fight by 25k in PPV buys.
Iole writes that reliable source is confirming that "Money" Mayweather's rematch showdown this past Saturday against Marcos Maidana sold 925,000 pay-per-view through SHOWTIME.
Their first match garnered
about 900k for PPV buys.
Well if the numbers pan out to be true (and Iole is always within a reasonable ballpark with his figures), then Mayweather and SHOWTIME have once again succeeded
in another hot selling event.
