Amir Khan steps into the ring this Saturday to face off against Devon Alexander. The battle is for the WBC "silver" welterweight title and the fight itself will go down at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ahead of the clash, Khan's promoter (Oscar De La Hoya) is already looking at a bigger picture for his fighter against the likes of Manny Pacquiao and / or Floyd Mayweather Jr. De La Hoya feels Khan has earned his right at either fighter.
Quoted recently on ESPN,
regarding the fight he wants Khan in, De La Hoya stated: "I'm pushing for a Pacquiao fight."
De La Hoya also went on to add Mayweather's name, stating to the publication: "I'm also pushing for a Mayweather fight. Amir Khan has been having eliminator after eliminator. The time for him is now. He deserves to be fighting Floyd Mayweather." De La Hoya added: "He deserves to be fighting Manny Pacquiao."
Of course all this talk about Mayweather and Pacquiao for Khan will be mute should he not get past what is considered a tough challenge in Alexander.
