Anyone thinking that Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
will ever happen, should have their doubt by now. It seems the more we want it, the more we need it - but deaf ears, blind eyes and egos the size of a dozen elephants crammed in a little room - and no one's talking anything remotely promising.
And this is basically what boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya is saying these days.
In regards to the fight we all crave, recently quoted in the media, De La Hoya stated: "I'll believe it when I see it."
So will the rest of us!
Items that De La Hoya pointed out as being issues that are holding back the fight:
The problems are a list, Pacquiao fights for HBO, Mayweather on SHOWTIME. Then there are the sponsors, and the egos.
De La Hoya stated: "You have egos, and egos can get in the way of making big fights happen."
In closing:
Doesn't anyone recall Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson? Rival networks and egos didn't stop that one from happening.
