Floyd Mayweather Jr. is finally speaking out on fighting Manny Pacquiao. Last night on a special edition of SHOWTIME, Mayweather laid out some of the terms for making a bout with Pacquiao on May 2 of next year.
Mayweather made mention of prior deals that Pacquiao and team turned down and also ripped Pacquiao for "begging" for the same kind of money that was offered in the past. Mayweather mentioned random blood and urine testing as well as a $40 million dollar offer that team Pacquiao turned down.
Speaking on TV, Mayweather stated: "We tried to make the fight happen before and you guys didn't want to take random blood and urine testing so that's why the fight didn't happen. Then I offered you $40 million and then you didn't want to make the fight happen."
Mayweather went on to rip Pacquiao, stating:
"You lost twice now and you are coming back begging for the same money. That is not going to happen."
So, before any of us start screaming "YES"
- there may still be a lot of "NO" issues standing in the way. Money and drug testing will certainly play a factor in negotiations... and as well all know, this fight has hit so many walls in the past... it's still going to take nothing short of a miracle to make this dream fight a reality.
