HBO’s triple header (3x) at the Cosmopolitan which headlined Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Diego Chaves, pulled in excellent TV viewership numbers.
In the main event, Bradley who was robbed in a fight that was ruled a draw with Chaves, averaged 966,000 TV viewers. The fight peaked at 1.087 million viewers.
On the undercard, Jose Benavidez Jr. (won by decision) vs. Mauricio Herrera, averaged 807,000 viewers. Their battle peaked in at 905,000 TV viewers.
Also on HBO's card, in middleweight action, Andy Lee who scored a 6th round KO over Matt Korobov, pulled in an average 787,000 TV viewers. The fight peaked at 849,000 TV viewers.
These are all impressive view numbers, but more so after the fact that rival network SHOWTIME also had boxing on TV in the same time slot with a 4-header card that featured Amir Khan vs. Devon Alexander. Would the numbers for HBO's event be even better if this was not the case? You bet. To read up on the viewership numbers for the SHOWTIME card - READ ON / Click.
