After 12 rounds of great back and forth action, televised on HBO in association with Top Rank, Mike Alvarado defeated Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios with a unanimous decision. Mike Alvarado was more tactical and strategic and that ended up earning him the UD win over Rios and the interim WBO junior welterweight title.
