The fighters known in the Boxing world by many fans as Doug Fischer's son, Edwin Valero has been cleared to fight on American soil. Doug Fischer of MaxBoxing reports that the undefeated WBA 130-pound titlist who was banned from fighting in the U.S. four years ago due to a previous non-boxing related head injury, has been cleared to fight in the state of Texas.
Fischer further reports that Valero's application for a Texas boxing license was recently approved
by the Department of Licensing and Regulation, the governing body in Texas.
Quoted on MaxBoxing, Valero stated: “I am very pleased to know that Texas has approved my license.”
Valero added: “It has been four years since I have boxed in the United States. I am back! I will deliver my best performance ever when I fight in Texas. Thank you to the officials who made this possible and to all the fans who have supported me; I will make you proud."
Please note, Valero isn't really Fischer's son... but because of the fact Fischer first brought attention to Valero, fans have started calling Valero the son of Doug Fischer. Adding to the confusion, Fischer and Valero actually kind of also look alike!
