Boxing Advisor speaks out on latest Floyd Mayweather Rumor

To be honest, I have read, and even reported on a few times that Floyd Mayweather Jr. showed his charitable side by helping out those in need. I love him for his Turkey drives where he has annually given out free Thanksgiving Day turkeys to families. He has even given tax cab fare to some who showed up for the free food, but had no ride home. Stuff like that often and mostly goes unreported. In many cases though, its not the lazy Media's fault for not reporting on Mayweather's awesome side... sometimes its because Mayweather does these nice things out of the eye of the public and doesn't toot his own horn looking for publicity on it. That to me is the sign of a man who walks like a Champion.

Recently the media found out about Mayweather's taking care of the funereal costs for the legendary Genaro Hernandez (who passed away on June 7th at the age of 45). It was only a rumor, as no one from Mayweather's side had confirmed these reports.

Leonard Ellerbe, advisor and close friend to Mayweather, did finally admit the rumors were true on ESPN. Ellerbe explained why they kept quiet on the matter, stating on ESPN: "That's just the type of person he (Mayweather) is. He has done things like this over the last 10 years... and I am not exaggerating... at least 20 times. I've seen a fan write to him or contact him through our website needing something like that done and Floyd would do it out of kindness. I can recall at least 20 times that he's done that because I am the one who handled the details."

Ellerbe added: "He doesn't like to take credit for those kinds of things, and he would probably get mad at me for saying these things, but it's the kind of heart he has."

I can understand why Mayweather likes to keep things like this on the hush side of things. I do appreciate that is helping in the background and I love hearing about his charitable side. The media likes to paint Mayweather as a "Bad Guy", but we all know and should know... that is just not the truth.
