Sergio Martinez speaks on why he won't fight Manny Pacquiao

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing - Most fighters would want a fight against Manny Pacquiao. The pay day, let alone the instant fame if one should beat him, is enough to entice most fighters, but not Sergio Martinez. Martinez is more than willing to fight Pacquiao, but at a fair weight.

Recently quoted by our friends over at BoxingScene.com, Martinez discussed why he was ruling out a fight with Pacquiao.

Martinez was willing to fight Pacquiao at 150 lbs., but any weight lower than that is impossible for Martinez.

Quoted on BScene, Martinez stated "He (Pacquiao) said he wanted to fight me in 150 pounds. I accepted. When I reached the conclusion that I could take that weight, I accepted. And now he wants it at 147 pounds. I've not made that weight in 12 years."

It's only a 3 pound difference, but Martinez is certain he would not be able to make the weight. "I don't think I can make it even if I cut off both legs," stated Martinez, adding: "Pacquiao is completely ruled out."
