Ortiz vs Berto is on! Andre Berto speaks - Surprised over Change

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing - Victor Ortiz vs. Andre Berto the rematch is a go. The fight will happen early next year on either Jan. 28th or Feb. 11th.

Quoted on ESPN in regards to his upcoming rematch with Ortiz, Berto stated: "This is something the people want and I want as well. I gave up a world title for this to happen. You know how serious this is for me."

In regards to the fight being shown by SHOWTIME instead of HBO, Berto was a little surprised, stating: "I've been with HBO my whole career but Showtime stepped up to the plate money-wise to have it. Surprised HBO didn't, but this is a business. So I am just looking forward (to) bringing the people the best fight possible to jump off the 2012 year with a bang."

According to ESPN, Showtime bought the fight for $2.25 million which was slightly more than what HBO offered at $2.15 million.
