Oscar De La Hoya predicts winner of Mayweather vs Pacquiao (& Ricky Hatton does Too!)

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing - Oscar De La Hoya has a unique perspective on both Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr., and Manny Pacquiao because he has fought both of them. So a prediction from De La Hoya on a "Money" vs. "Pacman" fight outcome should weigh more than your average bloke's prediction.

Recently our friends at BoxingScene.com posted an article that quoted Oscar De La Hoya giving his prediciton on a "Money" Mayweather vs. Pacquiao battle.

Judging Pacquiao on his last performance against Juan Manuel Marquez, De La Hoya was quoted as saying: "It was a great fight, it was a very close fight (between Pacquiao and Marquez.) Juan Manuel Marquez is a great fighter, but Mayweather has the style to beat Pacquiao, and he will do it by knockout."It

Aside from predicting a KO in the fight, it's not the first time De La Hoya has spoken out with a prediction for "Money" Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. Earlier this year, De La Hoya told Reuters News Agency: "I see Floyd Mayweather winning (over Manny Pacquiao) and I say that not only as an ex-fighter and a promoter but as a student of the game."

Also this year (a few months before the Reuters article) De La Hoya took to his twitter account and tweeted: "I respect manny and he is great for our sport but mayweathers style will beat anyone if you don't have a stiff hard fast jab." De La Hoya added: "There is no doubt in my mind mayweather beats paquiao (sic). styles make fights."

And then there is Ricky "Hitman" Hatton!

Another fighter who has faced both "Money" and Pacquiao and can offer a unique perspective is Ricky Hatton. Recently "Hitman" Hatton was quoted by the Telegraph (UK) giving his prediction on who he felt would win between the two fighters. Hatton stated to the publication: "It could actually be an anti-climax because it could be a wide points decision for Floyd over Manny."
