Roach on how much Cash Miguel Cotto refused for Manny Pacquiao Boxing match

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. - I've never heard of a boxer turning down a pay day against Manny
Pacquiao, but that is exactly what happened recently when Miguel Cotto
was offered and turned down a fight against the Pacman. Instead of
facing Pacman, Cotto opted for a match against Austin Trout. You might
think the reason that Cotto turned down the Pacquiao offer was due to
being low-balled in terms of pay. However, this does not seem to be the
case.
Recently quoted by ESPN Deportes,
Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach stated that Pacquiao's next fight
appears to be a 4th match with rival, Juan Manuel Marquez because Cotto
turned down a $7.5 million dollar offer from Pacquiao's camp.
Roach stated: "He (Pacquiao) offered to face Marquez after Cotto rejected $7.5 million."
Now
I am not sure how much Cotto will make against Trout, but it is more
than safe to assume it will be nowhere near the $7.5 million dollar
offer to face Pacquiao. Turning down Pacquiao is one thing... turning
down millions is another thing altogether. You know there just has to be
more to this story... but if there is, neither side is talking about
it.
