By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. - On Saturday night, Boxing fans were treated to a great fight between
Sergio Martinez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The fight which Martinez won
with a unanimous decision, went down at at the Thomas and Mack Center
and was shown live on TV with HBO-PPV (pay-per-view). Soon after the
epic battle, it was revealed that Martinez needed to be Hospitalized for
some ugly injuries.
According to updated reports, Martinez took 8 stitches
to sew up the wound over his right eye. He needed 2 staples in his
head. If that wasn't enough, Martinez also came out of the fight with
torn ligaments (ouch!) in his right knee and a broken left hand (double ouch!).
The good news is that Martinez is out of the hospital and recovering. Get well soon Champ!
