Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna dominates Carlos Ivan Velasquez to retain WBA Title

In Tuesday night boxing action from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, the WBA super featherweight champ, Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna retained his title by defeating Carlos Ivan Velasquez. Fortuna won by way of a 10th round TKO.

With this victory, Fortuna now sees his professional record improve to 29-0-1, 21 KOs.

Velasquez's record now stands at 19-2, 12 KOs.

Fortuna had Velasquez down in the second round and would go on to dominate the action until the 10th round - at :35 on the clock, Referee Russell Mora stopped the fight. Fortuna was declared winner by TKO.
