By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. Frank Bruno revealed yesterday to the press that he had been
sectioned in the hospital against his will twice this year over mental
health issues. In recent years the retired Heavyweight Champ, has had
health issues related to his mental condition, but has always bounced
back. In one of his recent hospital stays, a scary event happened. A
patient at the hospital tried to attack Bruno with a knife.
Speaking
to the Sunday Mirror (a UK media publication), Bruno spoke out on his
horrible ordeal regarding the attempted knife assault. Bruno stated: "I
was sitting in the dining area when I saw a guy out the corner of my
eye. He'd grabbed a knife out the kitchen and was coming at me when security staff bundled him over."
Although Bruno froze
when he saw the patient coming at him with a knife, he was not scared
but rather in shock over the incident. Bruno explained to the
publication: "I didn't feel scared. How can you
feel frightened of anything when you have been in the ring with Mike
Tyson twice? But it did shock me."
Bruno's Tyson remark is funny for sure, and it's good to see he is on the mend using his famous wit and humor. Because of the intended knife assault, Bruno realized he had to work harder than ever to get better and get out of the Hospital.
