Frank Warren speaks out on George Groves vs. Glen Johnson

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. On December 15th at ExCeL London, it's George Groves vs. Glen Johnson. Johnson, known as "The Road Warrior" is one tough and durable challenge for anyone, so I expect a great fight when the two meet. Groves' boxing promoter, Frank Warren is a little weary of the kind of threat Johnson can pose for his fighter, but is certain Groves' talent and hunger will prevail.

Warren quoted recently by The SUN (a UK based media outlet), stated: “It’s a very tough fight for George. Johnson has been around, seen it and done it in a near 20-year career, so he’ll have bags of experience compared to George."

Warren went on to add: "But George is young, fresh, talented and hungry and really wants to prove that he’s the next world champion in waiting."

What do I think? Groves, who is generating a lot of excitement, is a young fighter at 24 years of age, and he is going up against a true tested and proven veteran in Johnson. This has the makings of what could turn out to be a really entertaining fight.
