Cornelius Bundrage picks Oscar De La Hoya over 50 Cent, Bob Arum and Klitschko Brothers

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. On Tuesday, Jr. middleweight champion, Cornelius "K9" Bundrage signed
a multi-fight promotional contract agreement with Oscar De La Hoya's company,
Golden Boy Promotions. Bundrage who previously fought under Don King's
promotional outfit, had many choices in front of him before siding his
decision to go with Golden Boy. Amongst some of his options was Bob Arum's Top
Rank, 50 Cent and even the Klitschko's K2 Promotions.
Quoted by Espn, "K9" Bundrage spoke out on some of the promotional companies that were interested in him. Bundrage stated:
"50 Cent had reached out to me, trying to sign me up. I had a lot of
promoters trying to match me up. Top Rank was looking to match me up
with Vanes Martirosyan. I even heard the Klitschkos (K2 Promotions) was
trying to catch up with me."
In the end Bundrage picked De La
Hoya's company because of the way Golden Boy had treated him in the
past. When K9 was with Don King, De La Hoya's company won a purse bid
to for his fight againt Cory Spinks. "They (Golden Boy) came and picked
up that (Spinks) fight and I got six figures and I was the main event
and not even signed with Golden Boy. I never forgot that," said Bundrage.
Bundrage is not only one of my favorite boxers to watch (he is very exciting and skillful), but I also love his personality. He is one of those fighters you really want to see succeed... I expect he is on his way with bigger pay days and fights with Golden Boy Promotions.
