If Amir Khan vs Kell Brook fought Today - Boxing Legend Johnny Nelson on who'd win...

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. Kell Brook, he is young, he is exciting, he is one worth keeping an eye on... especially if your name is Amir Khan. Khan, is also young, exciting and worthy of watching... especially if your name is Kell Brook. These two need to keep a close eye on each other because in recent times the blood between the two has boiled... and for fans, this could just be the start of a beautiful fistic rivalry.

Recently, after Brook took out Hector Salidiva in 3 rounds this past Saturday, boxing legend Johhny Nelson gave his views on the idea of a Kell Book vs. Amir Khan match up.

If the Brook and Khan faced each other today, Nelson gives the edge to Khan, stating: "The talk has been of maybe Amir Khan and I've been asked before who I thought would win. Even though I like Kell and even though I like Khan, if they boxed today I'd say Khan."

At this moment, I think that is a fair assessment from Nelson because Khan has had much more higher quality opponents and been on the big international fighting stage for a few years now. Still, you get the feeling that Brook who at a young age of 23, will only keep getting better... it might be in the best interest of Khan to face him sooner, rather than later. Also keep in mind, I believe Khan will only be getting better himself (especially with Virgil Hunter as his trainer). So Brook really has his work cut out for him.

Nelson went on to add: "But after this performance (against Salidiva) if I was Amir Khan I would box Kell Brook now before this kid is a fully-fledged, fully confident individual, which will probably be in the next 12 months. He's not even the finished article."

Like I said, Brook can only get better. Of course he must remain focused, and keep pushing himself to the next level. He should enjoy some of the headlines he has been earning, but not let it get to his head. Should he get the chance to face off against Khan... it will be one hell of a fight and one every fan should want to see. Still, I'd like Brook to get some more fights under his belt before tries to chomp down on a tough challenge like Khan.
