Ricky Hatton is confident that he will retain the services of Floyd Mayweather Sr. if he gets a fight with Oscar De La Hoya. Mayweather Sr. who has been De La Hoya's trainer in recent past, has been quoted in the media stating he'd train whoever pays him the most. Hatton however feels strongly that Mayweather Sr. will stick to being his trainer and not stray back to De La Hoya's side.
Hatton who is keen on facing the winner of De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao, has responded to the possibility of
Mayweather Sr. opting to train De La Hoya over him.
Hatton, recently quoted by the Sun, stated: "Floyd chose me over Oscar and he will choose me again. I'd like to think so because we have enjoyed being with each other"
Although Hatton fully expects Mayweather Sr. will stay with him, he isn't under any illusions that it is set in stone. "But he is going to have to make the decision if the fight comes off because I'm sure Oscar will want him as well,"said Hatton.
