Former trainer to Oscar De La Hoya and current trainer to Ricky Hatton believes the De La Hoya may not be the best match out there for Hatton. Mayweather Sr. would rather Hatton fight Manny Pacquiao, but does feel Hatton could beat De La Hoya if he trains him.

Mayweather Sr, recently quoted on Sky Sports, in regards to a Hatton vs De La Hoya fight, stated: "I don't know if it's the right fight for Ricky and I think Manny Pacquiao would be better. But it would be a winnable
fight for Ricky if I trained him."

So who does Mayweather Sr. feel is a better fighter? Mayweather Sr. believes Hatton is a better fighter than De La Hoya, but feels there is still the issue of who the bigger fighter in the ring is. Choosing Hatton over De La Hoya, Mayweather Sr. stated: "Ricky is a better fighter than Oscar, but there is the issue of who is the bigger man in the ring."

Hatton defeated Paulie Malignaggi this past weekend by 11th round TKO, and De La Hoya takes on Pacquiao this coming December 6th.
