According to a report by out by ESPN, aside from being the Former Undisputed heavyweight Champion, Lennox Lewis is now a former HBO ringside TV commentator. Although ESPN did not break the news that Lewis is leaving HBO as a TV commentator, they are reporting that Lewis was fired.

According to ESPN, more than one source privy to information pertaining HBO and Lewis' split, told the publication that it was not Lewis' decision to leave as TV commentator and that it was the TV network's choice not to have
him back.

This seems to goes against what HBO spokesman Ray Stallone has stated in the press. In quotes released in the media attributed to Stallone, the spokesman stated: "After 4 years with HBO’s Boxing After Dark, Lennox Lewis will be leaving his post as commentator to begin fund raising efforts for his international training academy."

According to ESPN's report, HBO informed Lewis last week of the decision. A Source tells ESPN that Lewis' contract had expired and HBO was not offering him a new deal to continue working on TV.

Lewis had worked with the HBO TV crew since 2006. He retired from Boxing in 2004 with a professional record of 41-2-1 with 32 Knockouts to his credit.
