According to the CEO of Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, Richard Schaefer has confirmed that Bernard Hopkins (49-5-1, 32 KOs) will return to the ring on December 2nd. Hopkins' opponent will be Enrique Ornelas (29-5, 19 KOs).
Schaefer confirmed the match to ESPN late Thursday. Hopkins vs. Ornelas will be fought at light heavyweight and is scheduled for 12 rounds. Schaefer also confirmed that live TV coverage of the match will be carried by VERSUS.
Hopkins vs. Ornelas will take place at Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University, Philadelphia.
Hopkins vs. Ornelas and Roy Jones Jr vs. Danny Green will happen on the same day (separate venues). If Hopkins and Jones Jr. get past their opponents, then plans are for Jones Jr vs. Hopkins II in 2010.
