Bob Arum is pissed off at Oscar De La Hoya over De La Hoya's blog on Ring Tv (Ring Magazine). De La Hoya wrote in his blog that he believes Bob Arum who promotes both Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto had the ring made bigger to benefit Pacquiao's style when he fights Cotto on Nov 14.
Arum is angry over this comment posted by De La Hoya. Quoted by Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, Arum blasted De La Hoya for his comment, stating to the online publication: "Is that little (BLEEP) crazy? Who writes this
(BLEEP) for him? I’m absolutely outraged."
Arum was clearly angry at De La Hoya because as the promoter of the event hr had nothing to do with the size of the ring. Noting that the Nevada State Athletic Commission picks the ring size, Arum went on to state to the publication: "...to write that I arranged to have the ring made bigger to favor anyone is a complete (BLEEP) lie and is just not true!" Arum then went on to add: "For as long as I can remember, the rings in Nevada have been 20 feet by 20 feet and I didn’t do (BLEEP) thing about changing it."
It has been confirmed to Yahoo Sports by Keith Kizer, head of the NSAC that Arum is correct and 20x20 has been the standard size going back to '05.
