Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Shane Mosley may happen before fight with Manny Pacquiao! By Johnny Benz (Nov 21, 2009) Doghouse Boxing
It looks pretty clear that both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao seem really keen on fighting one another. It is the fight everyone, including HBO and the Fans really want to see. Although it looks like negotiations for the fight will occur very soon, neither fighter seems intent on waiting too long.
On the Pacquiao side of things, recently Freddie Roach told David Tyler of our website, DoghouseBoxing that if a fight can not be reached soon between Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr., then they would look elsewhere.
Roach cited the winner of Shane Mosley vs. Andre Berto, or Shane Mosley and Yuri Foreman as possible opponents for Pacquiao
Leonard Ellerbe, close friend and adviser to Mayweather Jr. tells the Grand Rapids Press that Mayweather Jr. also will not wait around for Pacquiao if negotiation fail to produce a contract for the fight. Ellerbe states they may face Mosley instead should he defeat Berto. "If a deal can't be reached, and if Shane beats Berto, we’ll look into the possibility of fighting him," said Ellerbe to the publication.
Shane Mosley and Andre Berto face off on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. The fight will be televised live on HBO's World Championship Boxing.
