It's the announcement that everyone wants to hear, the proposed March 13th HBO Pay-Per-View TV mega event, Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao to become actually official. Although it seems certain that on that date, you'll be able to sit in front of your TV and watch the twp pound for pound kings duke it out, the fight and it's venue is still not official. However, that could all change by Thursday.
Last week promoter Bob Arum, who represents Pacquiao's side of the negotiations, indicated that Monday of this
week could be the day the fight would be officially announced. That was before the well publicized venue issues surfaced in the middle of last week.
Now comes reports that the fight could be announced as early as late Thursday of this week. The Los Angeles Times has quoted an unnamed source close to the negotiations as stated that if the fight isn't official by late Thursday, it definitely will be sometime this week.
According to the unnamed source which has close ties to the mulit-million dollar negotiations: "I really believe that it will be done by late Thursday. It will definitely be finalized this week."
The source went on to add that they just are not sure if the venue for the event would be at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium or the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Jerry Jones owner of the Dallas Cowboys has up'ed his stake and offered $25 million dollars to host the fight in his new 1.2 billion dollar Stadium.
