Boxing Promoter on Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr and Marco Antonio Barrera vs Erik Morales By Johnny Benz (Dec 19, 2009) Doghouse Boxing
In his latest column written for the Sun UK, legendary British Promoter Frank Warren discussed many topics, including what he thought was the best overseas fight of the decade. Warren also discussed the proposed mega-event, Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In regards to the best fighter of the decade, Warren wrote for the Publication that it was a hard choice. Warren wrote in his column: "It's tough to pick the best overseas fighter of the decade, so perhaps it's best to
start-with the best fight - the first I co-promoted with Bob Arum between Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales in Las Vegas."
Although Warren feels Barrera vs. Morales was the best fight of the decade and rates both fighters as two of the best, he does think the best overseas fighter of the last decade is between the two combatants of the proposed March 13th HBO Pay-Per-View fight, Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. Warren states: "Barrera and Morales have to be up there as the best overseas fighters of the noughties, but it's probably a straight showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather." Warren went on to add: "We'll find out for real next year when they meet in what will surely be one of, if not the biggest, boxing events of all time."
