Ricky "Hitman" Hatton is focused on defeating Manny Pacquiao when the two face off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2nd. Recently quoted by the media, Hatton discussed his past fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., and why he switched to Mayweather Jr's father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. for his trainer.

Hatton stated he felt his fight with Mayweather Jr., in which he lost by 10th round TKO back in December of 2007, really changed his entire fighting career. Until his fight against Mayweather Jr., Hatton wasn't putting much thought into the way he would approach a fight. Hatton was basically going in the ring with no real thought as to how he was fighting, and he feels that is the reason why he lost to Mayweather Jr. "I think the Mayweather fight really changed my career," stated Hatton, adding: "I had too many fights where there was no real thought in the way I was fighting and that culminated in my defeat to Floyd Jr."

Hatton knew he had the ability to preform the way he wanted, but wasn't utilizing his skills properly anymore. Noting that he always had the ability, but wasn't using using it anymore as the reason he switch to a new trainer in Floyd Sr. "That's why I went to work with Floyd Sr. And I think you've already seen the difference,"said Hatton.
