Floyd Mayweather Jr will defeat Manny Pacquiao... Maybe!
By Johnny Benz, Benz Report for Doghouse Boxing (July 3, 2009)
I'll be the first to admit that I laughed out loud when Freddie Roach made the very bold prediction that Ricky Hatton would be knocked out by Manny Pacquiao inside three rounds. I can't tell you how foolish I though Roach's prediction was. Roach went as far as stating he'd be disappointed if his fighter, Pacquiao didn't finish Hatton off inside three rounds. No way in hell did I think for a moment Hatton could be so easily disposed of. As it turns out, Roach was more than on the money with his prediction, and I was left in awe.

Now, if you ask me who would win if Manny Pacquiao faced off against Floyd Mayweather Jr., my choice is Mayweather Jr... maybe. Yeah, I am not 100% certain. My heart tells me Mayweather Jr would win, but my head, thanks to another one of Roach's predictions, is now telling me Pacquiao could win.

So why is my heart fighting with my mind on this one? Simple... all because of Roach. Roach has gone on record in recent weeks stating that off all the fights out there for Pacquiao, be it Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley or Juan Manuel Marquez, the easiest would be against Mayweather Jr.

The easiest fight for Pacquiao would be against Mayweather Jr?! My first though was to once again to laugh out loud, but I was quickly reminded of the last time Roach made a bold prediction. Obviously Roach must see something I do not... and since the last time I went against his wisdom I ended up looking foolish...well now I am just not ready to commit myself to predicting a win for Mayweather Jr. So basically all I can come up with is Mayweather Jr can win... maybe.
