Arturo Gatti found Dead - Police suspect Foul Play in death of Boxing Legend!

Some extremely upsetting and very shocking news for all of us in the Boxing world. According to information we have been receiving at Doghouse Boxing, backed by wire reports, Arturo Gatti has been found dead in Brazil. Gatti who was born in Italy but grew up in Montreal Canada was found dead in the northeastern part of Brazil in an apartment in Porto de Galinhas.

Gatti was reportedly on his second honeymoon with his wife. Along on the trip was his 10 month old baby. What
sounds horrific is that Brazilian police (according to reports) found Gatti's body blood-stained.

Brazilian police have underway launched a full scale investigation, but at this time very few details have been released to the media.

Police do suspect Foul play is involved Gatti's death. Gatti's was discovered dead around 6 am local time. According to police, Gatti was found dead in his underwear. There was blood stains to the back of his head as well as blood stains on his neck.

An unamed spokeswoman for the public safety department of Pernambuco state says it was unclear how the Gatti (37) died.  She stated to the media "There were no bullet or stab wounds on his body, but police did find blood stains on the floor." She also confirmed that Gatti's wife and young son were unhurt. The spokeswoman did not provide further details and she declined to be identified because she had not been authorized to issue comment on the case.
