Arturo Gatti murdered by his Wife?! Police look at Purse strap as possible murder weapon!

According to reports published by Brazilian media, police have shifted some of their focus on Arturo Gatti's wife as a murder suspect. Gatti was found dead with blood on the back of his head and his neck yesterday in a posh hotel room in Brazil. He was there with his wife Amanda Rodrigues and his young child.

Please note, Police are still investigating the crime and at this time Gatti's wife is innocent until otherwise proven guilty.

According to reports, Rodrigues told the police that she and her husband Gatti on Friday night had an argument in a Bar. The argument was loud and Gatti who was very drunk left to go back to the hotel.

Brazilian Police are now indicating that her story has shown to be inconsistent. Brazilian Media is also reporting that Police are testing a broken purse strap found at the scene. It is believed the purse strap may have been used to strangle Gatti.

According to reports, Gatti's wife claims she went to sleep and was awaken around 6am to take care of their small child. At that time she believed her husband was sleeping. It was around 9am when she noticed her husband was dead.

Further according to Brazilian media reports, Police have indicated that Gatti may have been dead for up to 8 hours before their arrival.

UPDATE!!!! SAO PAULO – The wife of former boxing champion Arturo Gatti was detained as a suspect by Brazilian authorities today following his death at a Brazilian resort.
