Former World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes Comes to Derby Lane for Historic Fight Card

It will be a historic fight on Sunday, February 15 at the 79-year old greyhound racetrack. Former Heavyweight Boxing Champion Larry Holmes will be on track as a commentator for the big event. The eight-fight schedule will feature two local champions taking on challengers in their division.

St. Petersburg's "Diamond" Dave Santos a junior lightweight that is currently ranked #5 by the IBF and Olando "The Warrior" Rivera a light heavyweight who is the IBC American Champion and WBC Latin American Champion that holds five kickboxing titles.

The match will be broadcast on TV2 Sports and will feature other celebrity appearances. The official weigh-in for the boxers will be Saturday afternoon at 12:00 noon in the Gallery Lounge at Derby Lane. Media is invited and needs to RSVP by Friday February 15 to Vera Filipelli 727-481-8648. A lunch and interviews will follow. Sunday the boxing gates open at 12:00 noon at Derby Lane and Larry Holmes will sign autographs for the boxing attendees from 12:00 - 1:00 PM.
