WBF International Title On The Line March 27 In Tanzania
WBF International Title On The Line March 27 In Tanzania. A fight for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Super Bantamweight title, between Tanzanian Mohamed Matumla and Wang Xin Hua of China, will be the headliner when Hall Of Fame Boxing presents a big night of action at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar Es Salaam on Friday March 27.

Mohamed Matumla, son of one of Tanzania’s greatest boxing heroes Rashid “Snake Boy” Matumla, a world class Super Welterweight contender in the late nineties, has a professional record of 11-2-4 (4) and will be aiming to claim his first title in the pro ranks with his father in his corner.

“Snake Boy Junior”, as he is affectionately nicknamed, has big shoes to fill in the eyes of Tanzanian boxing fans, but a victory over Xin Hua, and lifting the WBF International title belt after what will hopefully be an exiting fight, is bound to be a good start for the young boxer.

Wang Xin Hua, a 29-year-old Southpaw from Harbin, China, brings a mediocre ledger of 10-9-1 (0), but is miles ahead of his opponent when it comes to experience, having already fought for various regional titles against top class foes, and boxed, and won, abroad several times.

“There is huge excitement for this fight here”, said WBF President Howard Goldberg after arriving in Dar Es Salaam with former WBF World Heavyweight Champion Francois Botha, who will be a special guest at the event.

“If young Mohamed is as good as his father, and uncle Mbwana Matumla (also a former world class contender), then we will be in for fireworks.”

The Matumla vs. Xin Hua WBF International title fight will be preceded by a full undercard featuring local match-ups, and will be televised by East Africa Television (EATV).
