The World Boxing Council and Nevada Community Foundation
Announce the 2015-2016 WBC José Sulaimán Boxers Fund Grant Cycle.
The World Boxing Council and Nevada Community Foundation (NCF) are pleased to announce the opening of the 2015-2016 grant cycle of the WBC José Sulaimán Boxers Fund. The Fund is one of the most prominent legacies of the WBC President-For-Life Don José Sulaimán (RIP). The WBC’s current President Mauricio Sulaimán has proudly continued his father’s vision.
Since its first grant cycle that started in 2013, the Fund has awarded more than $295,000 thanks to the continued generosity of organizations affiliated to the WBC, promoters of WBC events and several other individuals and entities notably TelMex Foundation, and the tireless service of the Fund’s Selection Committee. Established to support retired professional boxers who have fallen on hard times, and administered by Nevada Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Fund will award up to $10,000 (U.S. dollars) per awardee during the 2015-2016 grant cycle.
NCF will accept applications for Fund grants from August 1 through September 15, 2015. Applications must include all requested supporting documentation, to be mailed or emailed to Nevada Community Foundation by September 15, 2015, in order to be considered.
Retired professional boxers who face significant financial need are encouraged to apply. For questions and assistance, please contact your local WBC federation or affiliate. Questions may also be directed to Nevada Community Foundation at:
