Bristol Boxing Star Lee Haskins will box Mexican Willy Velazquez in a ten round international contest on December 5th at the City Academy, Bristol.

The Mexican boasts a record of 17 wins with 11 knock outs and only 3 defeats and one draw.

Haskins will be trying to extend his unbeaten run in his search of a long awaited shot at a World title, however the Mexican will be coming to spoil the party. Velazquez fights in a typical come forward Mexican style and will want to bully the Bristol champion from the opening bell.

He boasts an impressive knock out ratio of over 60% and will look to gain mainstream recognition with a win over Haskins.

Haskins had this to say about his upcoming fight: “It’s been a frustrating time seeing the likes of Stuart Hall, Jamie McDonnell and Martin Ward all getting world title shots when I've beaten them all. I want to make a statement in this fight against Velazquez, obviously being a Mexican he is going to be tough but I would love to get the stoppage win! I produced a knock out win against Luke Wilton in March and I want to make the boxing public stand up and take notice with another one in December."

Haskins continued “I am in the top 15 of all world ranking governing bodies and I am hungry for that world title shot in 2015.”

Chief Support will be Cefn Fforest’s Robbie Turley against Torquay’s Jamie Speight in a British super bantamweight title eliminator. The fightcard will feature 9 more fights featuring Bristol’s Dan Sarkozi, Ashley Lane and Liam Hunt. Débutantes Duane Winters, David Bailey and Josh Baker will also star alongside Cheddar’s boxing brothers Henry Smith and John Smith plus Swindon’s Ryan Martin.

Tickets are priced at £35, £50 and £75 VIP Table Seating. They are available from the Box Office on 0117 949 6699 or can be collected from the Bristol Boxing Gym www.westcountryboxing.com.
