While Gamgebeli always tried to make his mark in the fight, Moraiti seemed to be in control from start to finish and put an exclamation point on his excellent performance by scoring knock-downs with well-placed body-shots in rounds five and seven. The visitor showed great heart by getting off the canvas twice to beat the count of referee Bertrand Chagnoux, and still try to turn the tide, but after ten rounds of boxing there was no doubt that Moraiti had won most of the rounds and would be declared the winner. Judges Gilles Walhin, Joachim Rueda and Jean-Marcel Nartz all had him ahead by wide scores of 99-90, 98-90 and 100-88 respectively, improving the new double WBF titlists professional record to 11-8-4 (0). Gamgebeli drops to 23-11-3 (9). The World Boxing Federation (WBF) title fight was the headliner of a well-attended show promoted by Le Noble Art Aubagnais. - For video content, plus today's newspaper headlines and original content, visit our Front Page now. -To have your say on this (Video) article and mix it up with other Boxing Fans, visit The Dog Pound now. |
