The stacked card will feature six bouts, including the title contest and a pair of intriguing undercard bouts. Tickets are available through the EQC box office and all Ticket Master Outlets. Doors open at 6 p.m. with preliminary bouts starting at 7 p.m. Gavronski (20-1-0, 12 KOs) and Johnson (17-19-3, 5 KOs) are no strangers to each other, having met previously on Jan. 9 at the Emerald Queen Casino with Gavronski walking out the winner by unanimous decision. “The moment their last fight ended we knew we wanted to get them back in the ring to face each other,” promoter Brian Halquist said. “Their first fight was a slugfest. Both have that never-back-down style of fighting. The crowd loved it.” The 29-year-old Gavronski, a multiple Tacoma Golden Gloves champion as an amateur, has thrilled his hometown crowd since turning pro 5 1/2 years ago. The only blemish on the iron-jawed fighter’s resume was a 10-round decision to WBC Silver middleweight titlist Tureano Johnson in a match for the vacant WBC Continental Americans middleweight title. Gavronksi rebounded from the setback to win his next six fights, including the initial meeting against Johnson. “The winner of this fight is going to take a large step towards cracking the top 20 in the world rankings,” Halquist said. “There’s a lot on the line for each fighter Saturday. It will make for an exciting fight.” Johnson, who is also a former MMA fighter with a career record of 9-2-0 and appearances on two UFC Fight Night cards, responded from the loss to Gavronski by winning his next two contests. The semi-main event features a clash of powerful middleweights when undefeated Renton’s Isaac Tadeo (5-0-0, 3 KOs) faces Fife’s Cameron Sevilla-Rivera (6-1-1, 5 KOs) in a bout that should showcase plenty of power as the two fighters have combined to KO 8 of their 13 opponents. “The semi-main event could steal the show,” Halquist said. “It’s a great match-up between two rising young fighters.” In the featured undercard bout, Jeremy McCleary of Buckley, Wash., and U.S. Army veteran Heath Cline meet in a battle of featherweights.
