Boxing Results. Joe Gomez stopped the lesser experienced Cristian Cabral in the fifth round of a welterweight bout at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday.
Gomez, 19-7-(9), was the aggressor from the start and eventually wore down Cabral, 5-1-(3), after 2.45 of the fifth round.
On the undercard: Las Vegas based middleweight Arturo Crespin scored a six round unanimous decision over local boxer Jose Cruz Garcia. The scores were 60-54 and 59-55 twice.
Victor Cisneros outpointed Arkansas based Kita Watkins over six rounds. The scores were,58-56, 60-54 and 59-55.
In the opening bout of the evening Robert Josh Chavez won a four round unanimous decision over local fighter Mike Quezada. The scores were 40-36 on all three judges cards.
